Guest guest
I might be playing the devil's advocate here, but I'm hearing so much more buzz lately about Gluten Free Diets and Gluten Intolerance in people and animals. Are there any conditions that we see in rehab that WON'T benefit from a Gluten Free Diet? Thanks in advance. I have a client with a 9 year old German Shepherd with degenerative myelopathy. He is very high stress, especially in new situations and experiences. He has always been that way and has never liked anything outside his normal routine. He actually does better the less we do with him. I was wondering if anyone has any new information on DM. I know that research out of University of Florida suggests an autoimmune type disease and there are all kinds of recommendations for diet and supplements. My client recently heard that DM dogs should not be given heartworm preventive...any validation for that claim. I would love to here what everyone has to say!!! -- Backlund, DVM, CCRT Backlund Animal Clinic Canine Rehabilitation and Wellness 2616 South 158th Plaza Omaha, NE 68130 Phone Fax
