Guest guest
Like the woman who was great and in one year of taking a statin she got Alzheimer's had a stroke and died. Wow that is very very difficult to believe. The Alzheimer's part is very difficult for me to believe. Not ruling it out, just questioning. She was my neighbor, and very dear friend, she lived right next door, and I tried to tell her that her symptoms might be connected to Lipitor. She was DX'd with it, and was sent to an Alzheimer's home, her house was sold.. what more do you want. She was perfectly normal before going on that drug, she walked 3 miles every morning, and was an athlete in her youth . She died for no reason. What do you want, other proof? maybe I can call her bereaved son and ask for her death certificate. If you ever come up against the pain and suffering all of us are going through, I hope that at least you will learn compassion. Ever see the movie "The Doctor "'Now, you are making my blood pressure go up way too high, and it's not worth it ...I am thankful for the kind people in this world, like the others on this board . Guest guest
Funny how you make judgment calls about the way I do my work. There are people out there that need some of the "attitude"(shall we say that I have given here. Try telling a 14 year old girl she is going to have to tell her mother that she is sleeping with her 19 year old boyfriend again. The one without a job, minimal education and zero future in front of him other then sucking off the public dole that WE all pay for. Therapy is not all holding hands hugging trees and singing Koombia (sp?). A lot of people think that it is. Try talking a guy into giving you the loaded gun in his pocket, that because you are an observant person who looks at all sides of every situation they are in. It is not all touchy feely. When I hear people blame all there woes on one thing, I always question it. To me it sounds like Lipitor is the easy way out. People say Baycol killed people. From what I understand it was the combination of bacon and other meds. Lopid is what I was told. There is a real name for it, but what ever. But who is getting sued? Baycol. Because that is the easy target, especially here in Mississippi. I am sure who ever owns lopid is smaller then Bayer and they are going after the place they think they can get the most money. SO yes I question everything. That's what good therapists do. Your brother might go further into his shell. Hopefully he figure out it sux more in there then it does in the real world. Maybe he is in a shell because no one has really asked him why he likes it in there so much and what he is afraid of out here. I don't know. I know there are thousands of different ways to get to NY city from my house. some short some long but we all get there. Same way with therapy. I question every ailment being blamed on lipitor itself. what combos might have been taken.. Any predisposition to these problems and so on. Maybe all this has been offered in the past. But it sounds like everything was great in everyone's life and the only med you were taking was lipitor and you stuck to your diet and boom lipitor ruined everything. Re: My experience with lipitor/matt My brother would go more into his shell if he had a counselor like Matt. But, I am sure,Matt can be very nice. I h ope it is just the way he comes accross on the computer..... I hope so, too ! For some reason, he takes things too personally ! Matt...everything was great in my life...just got the last kid graduated from college and out on his own...was feeling great...happy life...happy marriage...I was healthy (except for cholesterol) and planning on hiking the Appalachian Trail with my college room mate and then BOOM...Lipitor did ruin it all....my life today is nothing like it was a few years ago... Guest guest
I didn't see any place in the introduction to this group that indicated that we needed any sort of attitude.... It seemed to imply to me that if I had been on the Statin's drugs and was having adverse affects that the data sheet describes that comes with the statins' drugs when you are given them that this was the group for me to share my experiences and hear from others what they had experienced.... If you were prescribed a statin drug and love it then there's a group for that too....If you weren't prescribed a Statin drug then I would say that until you are and have some experience with it that you need to listen to those of us who have had the experience..... This is a group for those who have been prescribed Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor or any of the other statins being pushed heavily on the general public. If you find that you are having the side effects from these statins and have been going through the process of being told that "that can't be a side effect from the medication."This is the group for you.
