By all means, tell your neuro about LDN and then insist on trying it. If he

won't cooperate, which I doubt that he will, there are ways of getting it

without his assistance. It's your life and you have the right to take

control of your health. If I can be of any help in getting LDN, let me

know.

My situation is the same. I hate MRI's so I refuse them since there isn't anything they can do about it regardless of the results - except continue to push Avonex, which I stopped taking in March.

However, over the years, the scans on my head never got worse, but I got alot worse. The doctor felt confident that it must be impacting my spinal column.

I would think so - that would be the responsible thing to do as far as I'm concerned - but mine never did. Maybe it's because he knew how much I hated MRI's ( I have a chronic phobia - last time, which was 4 years ago, they "knocked" me out) and that whatever the results were, he wouldn't prescribe anything different than Avonex. If not for my phobia of MRI's (and spinal taps), I would have requested a test.

It's just interesting because what Dr. Bihari shared with me was that Avonex

and LDN counteract each other because they effect the body in different

ways. It might be worth asking your doctor.

interested, my group would surely love to hear how its

helped others. There

are just a hand full of people in my group currently using LDN and

I’ve passed on the link to this newsgroup so they may join and hear it

here but most are not into doing email newsgroups. As a matter of fact, most don’t

know how to do emails period.

Most of my members are new to the internet but with an online forum and

message board they can read the posts whenever they can. Just wanted to ask

decided to try to get on LDN. Someone

from this group is going to help me find a dr. and a pharmacy where I can get

it.

I have ms and Fibromyalgia and for the most part I have over all pain and

fatigue. My worst symptom is my

vision coming and going on me.

Well today I woke up and couldn’t stand up straight. My muscles are so tight in my legs and

back that I can’t straighten out. If I try I feel like my legs will

snap. I’m on baclofen and the

Neurologist just keeps increasing my dosage on me but it doesn’t seem to

help much anymore. He says I have a long way to go before I

would need the pump. Let me

tell you this…. I will try everything else first before I get a baclofen

pump implant!!! Last thing I want

to do is go through surgery and then once a month have to go the the hospital

for a refill on my pump!!! L

I’m so pissed at this

disease its not funny. Today for the first time I couldn’t

help get my 7 year old dressed or fix his hair. My 9 year old daughter said its ok mommy

I can do it… boy did I cry.

Hes my youngest and last child and I cherish those little things. I miss being able to do hair cuts on my

kids and husband. I used to be a cosmetologist

and worked in a spa during the day and taught it at night. Now I can only hold the scissors

long enough to trim my cats butt lol

Have a Persian and don’t

know if anyone here has ever seen the back end of a Persian but its not pretty

when they get out of the litter box lol.

I want to thank everyone

here for helping make up my mind and trying to get on LDN

asap. I originally joined to

gather up information for my own group so all of us can be better educated

about this medication and have now decided instead of waiting till my avonex no

longer works, I’m going to try to get on LDN now.

My husband just got home from our primary dr. and he said that he can not prescribe the LDN for me because its not listed in the PDR. He did say that if I can find the proper information on it or a dr. who will prescribe it for me he will write up the referral for me ASAP. Someone from this group (Susie) emailed me a list of dr.’s who prescribe LDN and the closest one to me is in NJ. It will be a 3 hour drive but I’m going to call him and see if it’s possible to get an apt. with this guy.

If anyone knows of a dr. close to Philly who prescribes LDN please let me know?
