Hello ,

I agree with you about the meds and LBD and PDD. I think they should both be

treated the same with respect to each other (mainly AVOID THEM...LOL). One

name has a different " time frame " but both are the same " disease " as far as I

can see (?). Like your Dad, , Mr. B had the same experience with the NH

and has not been the same since.

I am doing better today...even though I have no energy, but, I lost my energy

months ago so it will take a while to bring it back to a decent level. Thank

you for your concern! Hope you are doing great!

Much Peace sent your way on this beautiful day! Stevie

Stevie - It's good to hear from you. I've been wondering how things were

going, because on this forum no news is not always good news. I'm glad you have

a smart caretaker that is able to see when you need help.

Jan & Stevie - Even though PDD and LBD are different, I think the lessons

learned on this forum work for PDD, also. My dad's neurologist always said my

dad did not have LBD and it turns out he was right. He had PD for 9 years

before the dementia started. BUT - I believe the drugs to avoid are the same

for

both. My dad walked into the nursing home and was wheeled out 2 months later.

He was given Ativan for about 6 weeks while he was there and also Wellbutrin.

We couldn't get them to stop giving those drugs to him.

Jan - That was the big problem we had with care centers. When a Dr.

prescribed a med - they had to make him take it. At home we have a lot more

freedom

to tweak the meds. I know you are working to get Jim in a nursing home and

they must deal with meds differently than we can at home. They have to - or

lose

their license.

I pray for both of you and also Mr. B & Jim.

God bless you,

in WA
