zinc - on an empty stomach?

Doesn't zinc give you an upset stomach when taken without food? It does me.

Maybe different types of zinc don't? If that's the case, which forms of it

won't give you a stomach ache?

I think our doctors point was that he should take as much as he can tolerate on

an empty stomach, before bed...I didn't query him too deeply on it because our

child has been fine taking it at night up to the requested dose (80mg). He is a

big kid and gets adult dose on most things, FYI.
