Guest guest Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Hi group, my name is Kathy and I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis last December at the Unniversity of Minnesota. Since then they have given me an unloader brace for my knee and lotsa pain meds to try and keep me comfortable as possible. I just had another appointment with my doctor on Tuesday and I guess I am headed for surgery #8 on this knee. I am a 37 year old female with 3 wonderful children and recently married the love of my life. To kinda give you a run down of all this lets start back 4 yrs ago when they did the first scope and found tissue growing in my knee...I had that surgery 4 times to remove it. The 5th was to measure how big of a graph I would need to repair the cartalidge the 6th was to repair it the 7th was to remove the cartalidge because it didnt survive. Now my next surgery is going to involve replacing the cartalidge again from a donar, and a tibial osteotomy. Has anyone had either of these procedures and have them work?? How long was the recovery time??? any info would be greatly appreciated. My doctor said it could be any where from 10 days to 2 months before surgery again. Quote
