Guest guest
Hello, My name is Sue Kirby and I live in east-central MO (20 min. west of St. Louis). I wanted to join the Raw Dairy group in order to learn more about dairy sheep and raw dairy products in general. I am a newcomer to hand spinning and will be receiving my first wheel soon. I do not own sheep yet, but hope to in 3 to 4 years. I would like to start with 3 or 4 sheep, so as not wanting to get in too fast at first. They would be primarily purchased for my personal fleece production, but the secondary reason would be for milk production. I know nothing about how long they produce milk after kidding, or how much we'd need to breed them in order to keep milk coming or anything of the sort. I would like to get to know the differences in cows milk vs. sheep (or goat, too). I was raised on pasturized cows milk but would like to investigate and perhaps eventually switch over to either goats' milk or sheeps milk. Thank you for allowing me to join your group. Sincerely, Sue Kirby
