Guest guest Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Hi , Hope I got the name right. I'm praying for you and your Grandma. I just wanted to put my opinion in on Haldol... I'm " NO " expert and haven't dealt with all this for as long as alot of people here. I just think you totally did the right thing by refusing it. All I know is my Dad (73) was having problems (hallucinations) prior to the Haldol and diagnosis (LBD) but, I believe it brought on even more symptoms. He was on it a very short time (week or so) and only on what they called a baby dose. After a few days the Dr. raised it. He took a bad fall shortly after the increase and hasn't been the same since. I totally blame the Haldol for his fall and quick decline. He was like a Zombie while on it. In fact, that's when his Parkinson symptoms became more obvious, he would shake uncontrollably. Even took him to Hospital ER thinking he was having another Stroke or something... Needless to say we immediately took him off of it. A few months later he was diagnosed with LBD... Thoughts, prayers and hugs from S. CA., Debbie Quote
