Guest guest
My 7 year old son is taking Abilify for his OCD. He had a very severe, sudden and debilitating onset last March. He was placed on Abilify, which is typically used to treat Schizophrenia. I did not know at the time that some children were being treated with other drugs, like Zoloft. My question is: does anyone else take Abilify for OCD and how to you rate it on decreasing the OCD? My son is doing better....he is also going to CBT therapy. We have changed his diet completely and now give him omega 3 as well as lots of other supplements. We are working to fight yeast and fungal infections. However, he still has a lot of anxiety and obsessions. I am pleased with his progress but would like to have even more progress. Our Psychiatrist wants us to commit to the Abilify for one years, which I am willing to do, but I just want to get him back to his old self as much as possible. So, if your child has taken abilify, how long and how do your rate your progress against OCD? Thanks!
