Rondella is indeed often a guarnizione, although I couldn't say so for sure

in your case. Zingarelli gives " antifrizione " although I don't ever remember

seeing it myself, I do vaguely recall " antiattrito " , have a look on the net

and see what comes up.

Although, as I keep on translating, it appears like the " friction washer "

might even be something to actually provide friction (attrito) so that the

cannula won't move from where it is inserted... Could this be possible?

Could " guarnizione di attrito " do in this case?

This is in the title of just one site I found:

The other system is a rubberized friction

washer which is tightened with a knob to keep the spool from turning

Your theory doesn't sound right to me, but as already stated I am no expert.
