Guest guest
Hi all, My name is Dona and i live with my family in Northeats OK. Hmm, family = dad, 3 boys and 2 girls on 15 acres w/ dogs, cats, quail & dairy goats (5 does). We are very much in the BEGINNINGS of our homestead but loving most every minute. We are milking one goat right now and raising 3 new doelings this winter. Im making kefir every morning for myself and seeing actual improvements in my health. have one daughter that craves the kefir. I guess the rest are so out of shape, they dont know they need it...but Im working on them. I love God, family & country... the internet too - lol (manage several forums myself) and books. Ive homeschooled for 14 yrs and have 12 yrs to go IF I allow them to graduate...I like having them around <grin>. I love Salatins book Family Friendly Farming and agree with near all of it. Im here because a friend suggested you were a great place to go for questions about raw milk. Dont know that I have any at the moment, 'cept maybe " is it still good for you with hersheys added to it? Just kidding of course. Looking forward to learning from you all. We are hatching about 60 chicks this week and I just LOVE IT! Ah! question....can the goats and the chickens share the same barn? Blessings! Guest guest
Welcome Dona! There are several homeschool moms on this list. Alas, I'm not one as my kids are adults now. This is a great place for learning all kinds of RawDairy related health stuff. I'm also a kefir consumer. I make it into fruit smoothies and love it. And I have at least one pekingese dog who is addicted to it (the others lap it up too, but not like Chewy!) And I'm with you about the Hershey's! Rhonda Who's going to work on making a pourable chocolate syrup that's actually healthy (I'll share the recipe when I figure it out) > Hi all, My name is Dona and i live with my family in Northeats OK. > > Im making kefir every morning for myself and seeing actual > improvements in my health. have one daughter that craves the kefir. > > I love God, family & country... the internet too - lol (manage > several forums myself) and books. Guest guest
Rhonda, Youre a woman after my heart! No way...healthy chocolate? Actually I heard somewhere its full of antioxidants (cocoa) and that its the sugar that is the bad element (1 Tblsp PROCESSED white sugar supposedly shuts your immune system down for 20 minutes). Ill watch for your post! HUGS from Oklahoma!
Guest guest
Hi Dona! I've meant to welcome you and have just been busy. You know how it is! I'm a homeschooling, goat & chicken raising, kefir drinking Mom of a 4 1/2 year old daughter & a 16 month old son. I'm not a newbie to homeschooling. Though you would guess I am from my children's ages. I homeschooled my step kids for several years and also helped a mom of nine to homeshool her kids. Glad to see someone else from OK here! Blessings, Kim(Checotah, OK)
