Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I'm new here (just joined a couple minutes ago) and fairly new to Kombucha (been brewing since May). I have a couple of questions I hope to get answered, my apologies if you've already gone over them before... What is an appropriate amount of time to store bottled Kombucha outside of the refrigerator? My ref. shelves are getting full and my husband is missing the cold storage space! I'd like to keep them out as long as possible, without affecting the taste/strength. Also, my kombucha is not very fizzy at all: I think this is because I'm storing it in the fridge directly after bottling. Am I right? Are there other ways to get more fizz? Maybe my problems go hand in hand: keeping them out of the fridge will give us more space there, and more fizz will develop when they are warmer??? I find the iced tea-type beverage jug (the kind with the spout on the bottom) is an ideal brewing container, as I can sample and bottle easily, without disturbing my pad. Also, I just add more sweet tea to the dregs and remove the daughter pad. Any ideas what to do with the new pads (besides give them away or composting)? So far, I've brewed continuously, but if I want to take a break, what should I do with my pad? Okay, that's it for now, I think. Do you all call it a pad? I don't know where I got that, but I don't know what else to call it! Please respond, but take it easy on me: remember I'm a beginner, both on this list, and as a brewer!
