Hi All,

Sorry for the graphic detail....but this is very puzzling. The twins

began taking Diflucan on Monday. Yesterday, their stools (yellow,

firm and formed)contained white chunks within the stool. We saw this

once before in March within the first few days of beginning TouefF.

What is this stuff???

I did an archieve search on a few lists and it seems that other

parents have seen this too but there were no answers as to what it

was.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Leah

Most likely:

Causes of pale or clay colored stools

lack of bile salt (which gives stool a brownish color)

antacids containing aluminum hydroxide

OR:

SILVERY WHITE, GRAY or PALE YELLOW STOOLS

If your stool lacks the normal brown color for more than a day or

two, you need to alert your physician as disorders involving your

liver, gall bladder or pancreas may be the cause, and may represent a

serious disease.

fwiw...I don't think it's a " serious disease " ...maybe a little milk

thistle and cal/mag and taurine is in order.

Thanks for the info anagramm, I really appreciate the help. I figured

the yellow color of their stools meant needing some aminos, we are

waiting on the results of their amino acids tests. I was just

wondering, since we have only seen the white stuff at the beginning

of taking the TouefF and Diflucan, if it were somewhat related.

Something like a clearing out of stuff hanging around, die-off, or

something like that.

Thanks again,

Leah

I've heard from a friend, who's child stool demonstrated the same white " stuff "

that it actually looks stringy??? Are we talking about the same " look " ?? Is

this yeast die off?
