Guest guest
yeah I need to work on those. Normally not an issue but I'm coughing like a donkey!Happy to hear, by the way, that your back is feeling better! You are smart to listen to your body and avoid high impact for awhile. Hugs! Kegle exercises, ! When I took my Mom in to the urologist, I asked if they really worked or not. She said, yes they do, but like all muscles, you need to keep them toned in order for it to continue working. And just pantie liners for the dribbles... Guest guest
Yes kegels work for most people but not for all. It is my monthly period that triggers my incontinence. As soon as I ovulate all bets are off and pantyliners don't help because one big cough, sneeze or jump... Eek!! and that's even if I've just used the washroom! oh and caffeine makes it worst so I don't drink caffeine if i am going to be working out. I have an appointment at the end of the month to see they think my bladder has fallen?? Lol crazy Sent from Jaclyn's iPhone yeah I need to work on those. Guest guest
Make sure you get a refference for the doc. I saw the local gp and she said some of them locally were perverted and got pleasure at looking down there at females. So she rec. a female one. When I took my mom in, the urologist said he wished she'd come in ten years ago, he could have helped a lot back then...Also, he referred her to a doctor who specialized on the "pelvic floor" -- urogynocology. Guest guest
is AWESOME when one is injured or depressed! She's saved me I don't know how many times! Keep it up! Eventually you WILL be able to move on to more intense workouts! One lb weight = 4 lbs of pressure on the knees - so as we lose weight we will be able to do so much more - WE WILL GET THERE! Thanks for the encouraging words!! It's depressive not to be able to workout when and how you want to. Since a 2-mile video helped last night, I did it again tonight, with more " umphh " added. My HRM said I got a good workout, too. I'm glad I finally broke down and bought that gizmo. It lets me know if I'm doing things right or slacking off. Guest guest
That's so funny you say that because after my daughter was born I went to my doctor and told her something was different and it was not normal but she told me it was stress incontinence from having a baby. Flash forward two years later and I finally have an appintment for the 30th and I couldn't be happier! My doc is not the best doc she is very dismissive. When I thought my thyroid was low she ignored me said it was from having a baby (her answer to any problems..)I nearly passed out one day so I went to the clinic and they took blood there and sure enough my thyroid was to blame! Anyways you are right I should have seen a doc way over a year ago but it took this long to get the referral. Thanks though you are right. Guest guest
Interesting, Jaclyn - I just posted the same thing about how my period triggers it, too. It is only for a few days before, though. I don't have a problem in "normal" life, but I notice it at this time when I do higher impact exercise. curious to hear what your doc says. I have also heard mixed things about kegels - anything from they are miracle cures to they do nothing. Take care Donna To: "exercisevideos " <exercisevideos >Sent: Wed, March 2, 2011 8:37:44 PMSubject: Re: Re: 30 minutes of PMS-y cardio at the Plaza Sweat Shop Yes kegels work for most people but not for all. Guest guest
Word on DH appreciating them it's worth it for that alone! I do kegels a LOT -- my husband appreciates them. :-) At 52, I only very occasionally have a sneeze-dribble. It seems sneezing is about the only thing, and then, only when my bladder is a bit on the full side. Pantyliners suffice. They're kind-of " nice " even if I didn't need them as a precaution. But then, I had c-sections, so I don't know what a regular birth would have done to the plumbing. Guest guest
I wish I had insurance when I had to have my hysterectomy 4 years ago so that they could have tied up my bladder because it isn't getting any better!
