Guest guest
This sounds very old fashioned but it works for me. I keep a card file by date. When my pt is filling out the paperwork, I fill out the index card with pertinent info. In my card box, I have dividers by month. I pull my cards about a week before they are due and drop renewal invoices created by MS office. I have one of those little wire picture displays that I clip cards with outstanding invoices on to trigger my memory. On the back of the card, I note when I mailed the invoice, f/u calls for payment, problems, grant pump approvals etc. When the pump is returned, I staple the card to the original paperwork and file for my records. Hope this makes sense. Altman All The Best www.feedyourbaby.com
Guest guest
that is essentially our system too. we only have about 25 rental pumps and 4 scales though, so for a bigger inventory, it might be cumbersome . . . Guest guest
Hi, and Lyla, Thank you so much for sharing your systems. I really admire you for doing it this way -- it relies on you to do the hard work of following each step. I've gotten a bit lazy and more and more rely on computers to do my organizing for me, so I guess I am looking for a good database-driven system to work with. With all the LC's out there that are renting pumps, I'm thinking surely someone has a good program? Guest guest
to be honest, if it were me, i would also be using a database. i am not involved with pump tracking (and glad to not be!) We divide up the labor according to strengths and interest in our cooperative, so I do the web site design and updates, the yahoo group management and calender (on-call scheduling) and also the financial tallies (consult payouts) at the end of each month. Another partner does the marketing and advertising, printing, etc. And another does the inventory and pump tracking and ordering, along with a clerical assistant, who also does most of our sales and rentals (she is also a breastfeeding counselor.) It works great for us, and I never have to track a pump, which i would hate quite a bit! Lyla At 10:25 AM 12/6/2004 -0500, you wrote: >Hi, and Lyla, > >Thank you so much for sharing your systems.
