Guest guest
Dear Just wanted to mention about abnormalities on MRI. My daughter has had a small lesion in her brain.. or so the doctors tell me, however I think that it was more likely to be an area with very poor circulation and blood flow. We have been doing TST for over 2 years now and have not been near the neuros recently, however with the more reasoned approach Tash is taking to life, and some of the more developed sense of humour and ability to watch and make sense of things like tv interviews and news broadcasts, I think that this part of her brain is healing.. neuroplasticity in the brain makes it possible to overcome issues that show up.. and improving breathing and oxygenation makes everything else we do for our babes work that much better. I think that it is important to add one new thing at a time and allow sufficient time in between each new addition to be able to fully evaluate its effects on our children. As a guide line it takes 6 weeks for the lining of the stomach to regenerate, so if introducing a new diet for example, I would wait 6 weeks before doing any other major shirts.. because from our experience it is not easy to evaluate interventions when multiple changes happen at one time. Best WishesTracey Hi, Thought I'd introduce myself as I joined in Dec last year, have done a couple of posts but never really introduced our little family. Feeling very inspired after attending the Treating Autism conference and having met so many helpful people so this is us and where we are..... Noah is 2 years 9 months and was dx at 18 months with ASD. He is totally non verbal and has never had any words. He also has very limited receptive language, basically understands no and breakfast. He didn't walk until 2 years 1 month. Suffered terrible constipation which is now under control with Movicol and probiotics. He had a gradual early onset regression when I reflect back now. We lived in a very toxic environment. Old house, backing onto fields constantly sprayed and me taking him to every vaccination the NHS told me to. I also breast fed him whilst drugged up to the eyeballs due to post labour complications. He is happy little chap and totally adored particularly by his 9 month old sister who finds him very funny. I feel we have only tinkered with biomedical up to this point. We have done Epsom salts baths, and various ad hoc supplements as I read bits and pieces but I haven't had real focus. We are doing TST and are going back in July to learn our third set - we were lucky enough to get funding from Tree of Hope if anyone else is thinking of doing this. They have been amazing and replied so quickly. We have tried homeopathic detox but we are now about to embark on AC Protocol once I have gotten Noah on the right supps for a couple of weeks. Have received a big bundle from Mandi Mart today - thanks. Just need the confidence to start. Noah has very high lead, antimony, copper, arsenic, cadmium and thallium - mercury didn't show in either 6hour urine test or fecal metals but I am guessing it's there buried away. We have just got back from the Royal London this evening having received results of various blood and urine tests along with MIR and lumbar puncture. Signs of non specific abnormalities of small scarring thought to be due to birth trauma. He does have high blood ammonia at 73 which they will retest in Oct when we get further results. I am thinking this may be due to Glutamine which I have been giving 1/2 teaspoon a day- is this a possibility? Also since returning from the absolutely inspiring conference we have booked to go and see Ian Jordan in August and I have vowed to clean up all our diets and the house. Hopefully I will still have a partner next time I post. I came home and within 24hrs the microwave was gone, feather pillows thrown we have no curtains, no chemical cleaners in the house the wireless phones have gone the cuddly toy fairy visited Noahs room in the night and gluten, dairy caisen and soy free diets are now the order all round. Noah has been on this for a while but i think this will make life easier. I found an excellent site with lots of receipes for home made cleaning products. Need to sort out my Internet so I can ditch the WiiFi I announced this as Nick was tucking into his crackers and cheese drinking a beer. The thought of the only fermented product available to him being cabbage at this point is a little alienating!!! Needless to say he has some reservations and is struggling with the light mornings post curtains. They were awful anyway - I may invest in some blinds for the sake of privacy I have no doubt I am going to have lots of questions for the group as I ramp up to chelation so I apologise at the outset but I am desperate to improve things for Noah Anyway, that's us and if you have read to the end of this very long e mail thank you
Guest guest
This is true but it won't move Mercury out of the brain Mx The body is a self healing system, when it is healthy. As his breathing improves and his diet cleans up to what he can safely deal with, his body will be able to detox some stuff naturally
Guest guest
Hello Tracey,Thanks for this and your point is one well made re starting too many things at once. Noah has been GF/CF/SF since January 2011. We got the advise to change his diet from NHS which I now appreciate was amazing, although they didn't really advise us as much as strongly indicate it may assist (the nutritionalist actually said they could not recommend it as whilst there was strong anecdotal evidence it was currently poor science(?))I have certainly been guilty of not keeping good records and introducing too much at once. I have been stripping things back to get down to some core supplements to start chelation and waiting to attend the conference.I am doing research on high blood levels of ammonia tonight and will not start anything until I have bottomed that one out now I have started to look into it more.I just so strongly believe Noah is very toxic and that is where his main issues are. His test results seem to support the success so far of his limited gut treatment. It's not perfect but toxins seem to presenting as his biggest problem at the moment.I have followed your posts on Tash's progress with TST and it truly is amazing. Another half an hour on the Internet and I am off to start Noah's for tonight and we hope we can make the same gains in time. Many thanks To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: thelifechangers@...Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2011 21:23:51 +0100Subject: Re: Newish member. Guest guest
Dear The body is a self healing system, when it is healthy. As his breathing improves and his diet cleans up to what he can safely deal with, his body will be able to detox some stuff naturally. I think with introducing TST so early that you are already helping Noah's body to improve its functional efficiency. On the movicol issue. I understand that it is very toxic to the liver, and since the liver is the source of most detoxing, have you considered stopping it and replacing with oxypowder, or contacting with regard to trying Diatomaceous Earth instead. is getting good results with this with her patients.. I think that ammonia is often linked with too much acidity somewhere else.. Animal protein and incomplete exhalations are both causes of acidity. Are you ensuring that animal proteins are only eaten at lunch time away from carbs? and that bedtime is only carbs and veg? This too will help regulate stomach acids and give better quality sleep .. which in turn allows the body good time between 1 and 3 am for the liver to have a good undisturbed run at detoxing. If kids are not getting good sleep at this time then the liver cannot operate properly and this will hold onto toxins. So pleased you have been able to do so much so early for your little man.. and that he is so loved and adored and has such a special place in the centre of all of your hearts... he is a very lucky young man. Guest guest
I did some digging a few years back when Henry was on Movicol and found some studies which showed that some of it was absorbed through the gut (officially it doesn't get into the bloodstream!)and its presence was found in urine. At that time there were no long term studies on its safety when given to children and mist studies seemed to be quite short term- maybe there are now? I didn't find any mention of Movicol having an effect on the liver - the potential problem was identified as being the kidneys in the studies I found. (Movicol is one molecule away from anti-freeze, I think and anti-freeze if swallowed can destroy the kidneys at a high enough dose.) If there are any studies that show it also affects the liver I should be grateful for references, please. Guest guest
Dear , Welcome to the group. Your post made me smile - reminding me how I made similar diet and other announcements at home. Thinking of Nick with his beer, cheese and crackers I wondered if I could suggest some alternatives for him? For cheese - The SCD diet allows hard cheeses(as well as butter and homemade yoghurt). We found we just weren't good with any cow diary so we stick to goat dairy. Lots of places sell hard goat cheddar-type cheeses (Asda, Co-op, Waitrose) For crackers - Kirsty posted a great recipe for homemade wheat-free crackers. (We thought they were fantastic) http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Biomedical-Europe/message/78395 For beer - most supermarkets stock a gluten-free beer these days but they can be a bit pricey - there's more choice on-line. I got Tim a book about Healing Beers (so positively encouraged beers :-)) but I'm afraid we have yet to make a start http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sacred-Herbal-Healing-Beers-Fermentation/dp/0937381667/r\ ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1309866014 & sr=8-1 Best wishes, Sandy

Guest guest
Sorry -it's Manchego, it's SCD legal. The Co-op sells it. It's yummy. Guest guest
Margaret and Sandy,Thank you for these recommendations. You have given my Nick light at the end of his new dietary tunnel!! Guest guest
Pecorino (hard sheep's cheese) is a good replacement for parmesan.
