Guest guest
What is vpi? Also, I wouldn't allow ANY surgery for a child exhibiting viral symptoms, unless I had very clear understanding that it is indicated under such conditions. Get a second opinion! How do you know she has apena? Does she snore - and not just when she is sick. There are home apena tests; my son had one. --Ann p.s. I'm a Mom of a kid who did fine having his tonsils & adenoids out ebv,,Dana? hello all, it is me again, maybe one day I can be helpful instead of always needing help.I remember in some of the postings about evb and tonsills.last week all my kids were ill w/variety of symptoms.baby had high fevers ,upset tummy small cough.other kids no fever upset tummys (runny weird stools)then dd was found to have red throat and very enlarged tonsils, this child stays sick very often.she tested neg strep. When hubby took her to ear nose throat doc he wants to remove her tonsills, does this make sense to do to someone who already gets sick alot?hubby asked about evb virus and doc said no,her throat was not red enough and glands were not swollen enough. He also scared hubby cause he said her tonsills were touching each other and contributing to apnea.I want to begin w/monolaurin to try to reduce virus,it would have to be some kind of virus? Also the geneticist said dd had vpi and other doc said because of tonsils.Anyway hubby sceduled her forsurgery 27th this month.any ideas how to kick this virus out in short order, btw,dd has rash face tummy, thighs, baby has rash on neck and other 2 kids have canker sores in mouth.would it seem logical to ask for a test of immune system before agreeing to surgery? I am afraid to do the surgery,dd is in a regression right now that was just starting to get better and the anestia(SP) always makes her worse again grateful thanks for your responses! Guest guest
Hi Ann, Thank you for the reply,it is weird medical setup here w/referalls and insurance, this is supposed to be an expert I am going to try some suplements, antivrals first and hopefully hold off until we move for any surgery.she was tested for apnea last year when she started regressing, she does snore very loud!the person at the sleep clinic told me she had mild apnea,he thought cause she is a chubby little one.she had her adnoids done w/ear tubes at age 4,she is now 11,I think they maybe just shave them?anyway that is a possible cause of vpi, which was explained to me by geneticist is like cleft palate in back of throat, causes a nasal quality to voice and articulation problems which she has but so do alot of asd kids.I am just scared, she had her eyes operated on becaus they cross,it was very hard on her and 2 months later after surgery the are crossing again.they also want to do a study on surgery techniques which makes me uncomfortable ebv,,Dana? hello all, it is me again, maybe one day I can be helpful instead of always needing help.I remember in some of the postings about evb and tonsills.last week all my kids were ill w/variety of symptoms.baby had high fevers ,upset tummy small cough.other kids no fever upset tummys (runny weird stools)then dd was found to have red throat and very enlarged tonsils, this child stays sick very often.she tested neg strep. Guest guest
Theresa, I'm sorry you and your daughter are having to go through this. I do think it is just common sense to not have surgery when one is infected with a non-related bug. I will be thinking about your daughter and holding positive thoughts! --Ann ebv,,Dana? hello all, it is me again, maybe one day I can be helpful instead of always needing help.I remember in some of the postings about evb and tonsills.last week all my kids were ill w/variety of symptoms.baby had high fevers ,upset tummy small cough.other kids no fever upset tummys (runny weird stools)then dd was found to have red throat and very enlarged tonsils, this child stays sick very often.she tested neg strep.
