Guest guest
> . . . Well, now I'm looking for homeschool information. I've > noticed that many of you homeschool your kids with OCD. Is there one > curriculum better than another in relation to OCD? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In addition to receiving support and information from the OCD and Homeschooling list, there are Charter Cyber schools that may work for you. Depending on the state you live in, K12 Virtual Charter Schools can provide you with a public school education in your own home. You get the benefits of homeschooling and your school district is responsible for paying the tuition to the Virtual Charter School. We have several children in our school district who are enrolled in the PA Virtual Charter School, which is a part of K12. The parents are extremely satisfied with the curriculum, educational materials provided (including a computer and internet access), and the support from the teachers and staff. I had the director of K12 come to one of our parent's meetings to explain about their program. We also had a parent and two of his children at the meeting. The 7th grader was so enthusiastic about K12 compared to regular homeschooling, which she participated in for two years. I told her she should be the poster child for them; they couldn't ask for better advertising. You can get more information at: http://www.k12.com/ If your state doesn't have a K12 Charter school, you can contact K12 about getting one started. Sometimes our kids do better working at their own pace, in an environment that we have control over, rather than the public school. Cyber schooling requires the same type of commitment from the parent that homeschooling does. The difference is that the costs involved are borne by the local school district, not the parent. Progress, one child and one parent at a time. Phyllis phyllis.pepe@...
Guest guest
You might want to join the ocd homeschooling list. I've homeschooled for 12 yrs and found it works for us. There is a plethora of homeschool curriculum available. I don't use just one curriculum. It's important to find what works for you and your child. Check with a local or state homeschool support for help and also information regarding the legalities in your state. You might find a conference that you could attend locally for 'too much' info. Feel free to contact me off list. cristey cristeygibson@... ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
