Unfortunately, I have not found a source here in Montana, but I am

searching...I wish we could own our own goat, but we live in town.

Welcome to the list, . Do you know about www.realmilk.com? What

about the Weston A. Price Foundation? (http://www.westonaprice.org)

There is a chapter in Billings:: Jeanne Charter ,

charter@... Maybe Jeanne can point you to some members in

your area and you could start a car-pool to Victor every 2 weeks. I

can help you organize a car pool if you'd like. Currently we drive

100 miles 1 way each week and each member driver 2 to 3 times per

year. We started out by driving every other week. We are in

Massachusetts.

Encouraging closer availability of raw milk would be a good direction

to take too. Not sure, but I may be able to help with that too.

First you start out with a group of consumers who want clean raw milk

that is pasture-based.

Source from www.realmilk.com: Lifeline Farms Cheese, Victor (800)679-

8735

Raw milk is banned in Montana so I don't know if Lifeline does cow

shares or only sells 60 day old raw cheeses, but they'll be a good

source of information. Ask them about the regulations and learn.

That way they'll be more relaxed that you are not a regulator

pretending to be a consumer. Make sure you tell them why you want

raw milk.

Check out recommended books on www.westonaprice.org especially The

Untold Story of Milk by Ron Schmid.

There seems to be little political will to safeguard the future of farmers and sustain regional areas. We believe that the family farms are not only the most efficient, but also care more about the stock and the land, protecting it for future generations, and

also for the quality of the milk they produce.Regards, .~ ~ Welcome to 'Balcowa'! ~ ~ ~http://www.geocities.com/balcs9/_________________________________________________________________10,000 children need sponsors – change a life: http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/clk;9294008;9739733;y?http://www.worldvision.com.au/childsponsorship/search/child_search.asp?om=1__________________________________________________

Hi ,

My name is Brittany, and I am new too. I just want to welcome you, and to say praise God for what you do I think it is awesome. I pray God's blessing on you, your family and your farm as well as the independent farmers in australia who find themselves struggling now. Many nice people you will learn so many things, and you will be able to impart much I am sure.

G'day Brittany, and all,

Thank you for the welcome!

With regard to OZ, I believe that it is illegal to consume raw milk

in Australia - I think it is classed as not fit for human

consumption unless it has been pasteurised!!!

I found the following news story (re QLD govt stopping raw milk

consumption except for onfarm) which may be of interest:

http://www.abc.net.au/brisbane/stories/s928534.htm

I believe QLD was the last state to close any loopholes, however,

I will endeavour to find the exact legalities re raw milk in OZ and

will post my findings.

Regards, .
