Guest guest
My experience is that most people with MS have food allergies and are also more likely than most to build up food intolerances. If you take a pill which contains the same quantities of fruit and veg every day then, if you are the sort of person who has food intolerances, you are likely to develop one. Olivia, That is my view too. I've even wondered if any supplement is good on a daily basis, although I take a pile of them every day - not so much because of the individual vitamins themselves, but because of the fillers, binders etc. I've read of people who 'fast' from supplements a couple days a week. I wonder if that might not be a good idea. I have also been toying with the idea of cutting many of them out entirely. I'm really 'up in the air' right now about supplements. Of course, as you all probably know, I'm convinced that there is no supplement that will do us as much good as the correct diet. Just compare the amount of food we ingest in a year, compared to the amount of supplement material we ingest in a year. If we are eating the wrong foods, I think it's obvious that could be disasterous, in those quantities. Carol
Guest guest
In all honesty, I don't think it was a healing crisis - I think I was massively allergic to it. I had this happen to me too when I juiced, I had a horrible rash/allergic reaction to it. does your friend have a lot of allergies to drugs also/ Gwen
Guest guest
Olivia, It sounds like you were possibly detoxifing. My mother who suffered from Lupus for years started drinking stabilized Aloe vera juice to help her. For about a month her joints ached worse than before, and she also broke out in boils all over her body and on the inside of her mouth and tongue. She then began to get better and has been feeling great ever since. From what I have read, some people are very toxic and will have a detoxification period like this after starting on something new. I started the juice plus and developed the most amazing boils all over my arms (yes, truly delightful it was). They got bigger, as did my arms, and more painful until I looked utterly gross and felt totally miserable. > > In all honesty, I don't think it was a healing crisis - I think I was massively allergic to it. > > Ajay, my girlfriend who has MS, has endless food allergies/intolerances and is absolutely certain she would react badly to JP. She develops an intolerance to something if she eats more than two days running or more than a couple of times in a week. For example, when she first got ill I got into juicing in a big way and juiced a lot of carrots (amongst other things) mainly because they taste nice and are dead easy to juice. She then developed a massive allergy to them and only eats them rarely now having not eaten them for several years. > > I think the theory of JP is great (and it obviously suits a lot of people) but personally believe it is better to take something that is close to the basics as possible - i.e something that has just minerals in it and nothing else at all, no filler, no capsule, no raspberry juice - no nothing except the minerals. > > Olivia > > > > In a message dated Tue, 19 Jun 2001 20:00:00 British Summer Time, sculver@... writes: > > << What type of reaction did you have to the Juice Plus? Guest guest
There is one big problem with Juice plus, PHENOLS! When a child has mercury poisoning they cannot handle phenols at ALL. Mercury binds sulfur and sulfur's one function is processing phenols. The only fruit my daughter can handle is pears. AFTER chelation, after a healed gut then poss. juice plus. Shoot I take it, it's a great proactive supplement but not for out kids! Market Hello: I have a friend with newly diagnosed PDD/NOS child who is 2.5 years old. Her doctor perscribed at their first meeting juiceplus and going casin free. That's it for now. I have heard of juiceplus but don't recall the info. Could anyone tell me anything? They are not yet " online " and I promised to ask about it and this is one of the lists that I always feel conveys accurate info. I found their website but could not tell from the ingredients if this product would feed yeast. I also wondered from those who have seen DAN! doctors if they customarily order tests at the initial meeting if the child is not yet on any diet plan. We were already on a diet when we were seen so I was not sure what was standard practice or if it varies between physicians/practioners. Thanks for any info and sorry for the slightly OT question.
