Guest guest
Hi This week has been crazy and it doesn't stop! We finally received 's DMSA from Kirkmans. I gave him his first dose today at 1 pm ET. He is taking 50mg every 4 hours, he is 32 pounds and 39 months old. Earlier this morning I thought he felt a little warm but thought it was my as usual cold hands. I took his temp right after giving the DMSA and it is 101.3. I know the drug did not cause it. My questions are: can I give the next dose and just keep an eye on him? Is it safe to also give Motrin, if necesssary (if fever goes up)? I would really appreciate any input. I am calling his pediatrician who prescribed the DMSA but this really is not her area. Next month we are seeing a DAN! doc who does chelation (our DAN! person does not) and will then be in better shape. Thanks again Kate D. Guest guest
Kate: I would not continue chelating with temp >101 - his body is fighting something and he should not have any more stress. Give him extra probiotics and stop until he recovers. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply. When his fever is gone, do I just disregard the one dose and start anew?
