However, don't you have an extra scoby that you could cut up into pieces to fit your smaller projects and keep them in a separate jar with some starter KT. Just for that purpose? I always feel like the new baby scoby likes to have a mama. All babies need one? I have been made to believe that the scoby adds something beneficial to the brew. Happy brewing to you, Virginia D.
