Some people use fish bowls instead of jars. I think some fish bowls

have multiple-gallon capacity, and your SCOBYs would be huge because

the surface area is so large. I don't brew in fish bowls myself, but

I know other long-time brewers who do. I'd just make sure that the

fish bowls were completely glass, w/ no metal or glued parts, etc.

I have been considering buying the plastic spigot online and putting

it in the glass vessels myself. The only reason the supplier of the

spigot said they could not put one in the charboys was because of

getting into it, to do so. Do you want the link for the spigot? Trying

to recall if saw a stainless steel one. Know saw brass and copper,

plastic.

I found a 3 gallon spigot water dispenser the hard plastic one. I was

wondering about a fish tank, that has that silicone seal? if I person

had a glass cutter tool (easy to get and do) they could put a spigot

on it!? But I like the sound of the large glass jars from fusion when

I can get one. I have a large plastic bucket from the brewer too, I

may try. I tried the anchor hocking page and could not find it! could

you send me the link? One has to wonder about moving scobies, heh.

Thanks

fish tank supplies... Works fine for me. T me the spigots get

clogged and you have put your whole hand in to move a scoby away

fromthe spigot.

Doh, takes that back. I forgot that the fusion jars has available a

plastic spigot too. What if we ever find a stainless steel one? Wants

that wooden barrel, need to do a search . What about the silicone on a

fish tank?

DO NOT USE AQUARIUMS!!!!! When people say " fish bowl " they mean the

roundish or squarish glass jars that are a single unit of glass. They DO

NOT mean aquariums that are constructed of sheets of glass and held

together with sealant.
