Hi André,

Sorry, but I fail to see. What do you find so antipathique? If it is the

business of the native country, it's actually very important because you have a)

the gulf between Iberian and Latin American Spanish

and then each country in LatAm has a different " tone " or turn of phrase, and

esp. for ICFs it's very important that the language should sound comfortable and

familiar to the patient, like " one of your

own " is addressing you at what is necessarily a stressful time. There are some

combos that work well, like you can give an Argentinian stuff done by a

Uruguayan, Chilean or even Cuban [if they stick to their

pure Spanish], but texts emanating from some other countries, esp. Mexico, will

ring a distinctly off-key, unfamiliar bell.

I agree, and what's more, it's nice to see a company take an interest in

their translation rather than just hunt for the lowest bidder.

I di agrre too, and applaude a company (agency) who does know what it wants

(as we are used to say in French). This is not at all " antipathetic " , it's

just the reflect of a knowledge of the language market.

To be honest Dee I thought the language was pretty curt - no " Please don't "

or whatever. I can work for people who are polite so I'm not going to put

myself out for people who can't be bothered to communicate in a civilised

manner.
