I think it's awkward FR [same as " 1 pommande " for " une pommade " ] for " for this

purpose " [really meaning " every time you do this " ].

Hello Dee

I've come across a number of texts (reports) where the figure 1 has been

used simply as a stand-in for un/une - as most recently in " porteuse d'1

sclerose laterale amystrophique " . Although 's text sounds rather

more formal, perhaps the author has momentarily slipped into everyday usage.

Yes, it´s typically sloppy. I too have come across a lot of them, not just like

the example you cite, when they are writing notes quickly, but in theses etc.

Hello Dee

's silence suggests she is still hors de combat. Wish her a

speedy recovery. I was in bed for three days between Christmas and New

Year an d it took me until about two weeks ago before every change of

temperature, medium length conversation and bout of laughter triggered a

coughing fit that left me completely exhausted. But eventually it goes, so

if you're speaking to her wish her " bon courage " .
