Guest guest
Hi ! By your description I suppose that this test could be the so-called (in Italy above all) Mingazzini's manoeuvre (patient´s upper/lower limbs are held straight in front of him/her with closed eyes). The physician should note the asymmetry between the limbs. Guest guest
Dear Gilberto, Marie-Pierre, and Paola, Thank you for your help! ___________________________ Sosnovsky, M.D. Biomedical Translation & Editing English > Russian < French Moscow, Russia email: mail@... http://www.biomedtrans.ru Tel.: +7 Fax: +1 R: Position test Hi , First of all, let me say that I am not an expert but as far as I know altered pyramidal functions may impair mobility. So position tests are conducted to assess different parameters... I have found references on the web (sorry they are in Italian) Where they talk about pyramidal functions and tests to evaluate position and locomotory performance in patients affected by sclerosis) In Italian they are called " test di posizione " , if you are looking for the French term, you might try to have a look at the occurrences of " test de position " with google, if it is the Russian term you are looking for, I am afraid I cant help more than this. Have a nice day! Paola paolabuoso Translation and Editing Services Italian, English, Spanish, Catalan -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Sosnovsky Inviato: lunes, 08 de marzo de 2004 14:46 A: medical_translation Oggetto: Position test Dear colleagues, In the section titled " Pyramidal Functions " of a neurological examination data sheet, I have the following list of tests: Position test upper extremities, pronation: none, mild, evident Position test upper extremities, sinking: none, mild, evident Position test lower extremities, sinking (45°, streched knees); none, mild, evident, lifts leg only separately , ...degrees reached, even separate lifting not possible Walking on heels Walking on tiptoes Hopping on one foot I have difficulty understanding what is " position test " . Several position tests that I have found (such as a test for limb ischemia) apparantly have nothing to do with pyramidal functions. The ones recommended here apparently require active movements of hands and legs from/to certain positions. Any help or link to an appropriate source will be greatly appreciated.
