Guest guest
Hi , You might want to speak with someone from the Dept. of Education - Office of Civil Rights. They offer mediation services. Good Luck, love, Chris
Guest guest
My ADD sons have a 504 plan. I guess because their modifications can be done in the classroom.. Not Special Ed services.
Guest guest
Ok I asked a Lawyer about this. If either the ADD or the CMT is effecting him in school and he needs modifications in anyway then it they do have to do an IEP for you. I'd push this and I wouldn't take my word for it, check on it yourself. Ron
Guest guest
I just want to thank everyone for the advice. Ron - thanks for the lawyer idea and for checking with a lawyer. There is no way I am backing down. I did hear back from the IS teacher after I copied a portion of the Dept. of Ed website stating that a physical disability that interferes with education has to have a 504 plan. She said - 'the school physiologist didn't know this and she will share it with her. She must never have had a case like this before. Good to know'. How can she not know about it! It is her job. It just goes to show you, you have to be your own advocate because no one else will. I personally think they were trying to take the easy way out... oh he has ADD we will just use that. No way. ADD has nothing to do with Ethan's problems with his hands and walking etc. Anyway thanks again. I look forward to more suggestions and I will keep you posted. Guest guest
Just for more information for you. I have a friend who's son has ADD and has an IEP just for that reason. Don't let them blow you off.
