Hello, I was very glad to find this group. My 3 1/2 yr old daughter,

Logan was diagnosed w/Autism at 18 months. She has hypotonia, mostly

in her ankles, she was 2 yrs. 10 months before she walked. She

babbles alot, has good consonant and vowel sounds but no words. I

put her on the GF/CF diet at 15 months while waiting for a dx and

continued for 10 months w/ no significant improvements. We recently

started using a DAN Dr. that has a 5 year old grandson w/autism.

Logan has always had very bad breakouts mainly on her right cheek but

sometimes on her mouth with fever blisters. She has a permanent

scar/tender spot on her cheek she has had so many. After reading

about possible viral links in Dr. J. McCandless' book, my mother

(bless her soul) pd the $800.00 2 months before she died for us to

get the blood test through Immunosciences Lab. The results were:

myelin basic protein 72 (0-50), NK cell activity 6.10 (20-50),

varicella 116 (0-100), cytomegalovirus 107 (<100), herpes virus type

1, 419 (<100), hv type 2, 219 (<100), hv type 6, 54 (0-50). Our dr.

has started us on the usual round of supplements. I am anxious to

use valtrex but he wants to try Grapefruit Seed Extract first and is

also wanting me to do the SCD diet which we are trying to do with

much difficulty. I could certainly be wrong, call in mothers

intuition or whatever, but Logan does not have any of the issues

related to gut problems, her bowels have always been normal and she

has never had ecema sp? I just feel like the heart of our problems

lie with viruses. Sorry this is so long, I would really like some

input.
