A couple of years ago there was a query to the list about " Alberan lever " in connection with a translation into Spanish and I kept a note of the exchange (apologies and acknowledgments to the people involved, I'm afraid I didn't keep their names) It was suggested that " Alberan lever " (part of a duodenoscope) was probably a typo for " Albarran lever " (named after the urologist Joaquín Albarrán y Domínguez). In cystoscopes " Albarran bridge " translates as " puente de Albarrán " , so " Alberan lever " could be translated as " palanca de Albarrán " .
