Guest guest Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Hello all- Just a note to let you know things went relatively well with the new p-doc yesterday. He feels Anne definitely has inattentive ADD. He spent a good deal of time socratically (sp?) leading Anne through questions about why would I *want* her to have ADD; sometimes parents have to be *parents* and not *pals*; what does she have to lose by trying medication; he even *called* me last night to find out how we were faring after the meeting, and to ask if Anne had made a decision about the medication (I was impressed!) He feels the best med to start is Concerta. **, I know your Annie takes Concerta...how much is she on? Anne's to start on 18mg x 3-4 days, increase to 36 mg x 3-4 days, and ultimately to 54 mg x 3-4 days if now effect is seen.** Thanks for all your care and concern. Fortunately, spring break starts tomorrow, so we'll have some time for Anne to digest the discussion and - hopefully of her own desire - try the Concerta when we return. I'll keep you posted.
