Glad none of you folks are tasting our goat's milk right now. The girls seem to have gotten into some wild onions or garlic and it is awful! Good for making goat milk soap tho so it's in the freezer for later when I need more for soap.

I just got my first raw goat's milk a week or so ago, and it amazingly hadno aftertaste. In fact, other than being richer, it tasted much like wholemilk from the store.I've had the store-bought, and it did have one, but it wasn't unpleasant tome.Peace,Blane

Olif and others,

As I said before, the raw goat's milk I got recently, barely had any aftertaste

when I first brought it home. Although there was still no doubt that it was

goat's

milk.

Now that it is aged a few days, it seems to be getting a little " goatier " -a bit

more of that slightly sharp aftertaste that is so recognizable.

I used a little in some pudding along with raw cow's milk to see if it is still

noticeable. I am planning to use the rest to make some kefir.

One nice thing that I noticed about the goat's milk is that it seems to be

naturally homogenized. It has barely separated after 4 days in the refrigerator.

My cow's milk has a huge plug in it. (Not that I mind that so much, but it

sometimes is a little difficult to get it mixed back up. Seems to coat the

bottle.

And I do have one child who doesn't want the " creamy " milk.

Funny, I had a painter at my house who tried my raw cow's milk. Said he

hadn't had any since he was a kid. He said he had an older sister who always

refused to drink the first glass poured from a bottle because it was " too

creamy " .)

Kathy

Who would be the first one in line for the creamy milk!

Belinda,

Your goat milk is usually INCREDIBLE! I would recommend it to everyone. No

goaty

aftertaste at all, just clean, rich smooth milk. I love it. Didn't you say it

was something

about not running the bucks with the does that made it taste good? I would love

a

clarification on that technique. Sounds like it should be a practice that all

goat farmers

adopt.
