Guest guest
Butter that not only spreads easily when cold, but also contains a healthier balance of fats has been developed by researchers tinkering with the diets of cows.... The scientists altered the fat profile of the milk from which the butter was made by adding rapeseed oil to the cow's fodder. Fearon says that it would also be possible to make cheese, ice cream and other dairy products from the "healthier" milk..... http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994775 Some people just can't leave Mother Nature well enough and alone. I wish they'd stop "protecting the Public Health". We certainly have different ideas about what Healthy means.... --Terry
Guest guest
that is really interesting... and the sad part is what they don't tell the public about what the homgenization process that cow milk is put through does to the arteries.. yet another reason to drink it raw. charlene > >Reply-To: RawDairy >To: <RawDairy > >Subject: The Secret to Soft Butter >Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 10:41:53 -0400 > >Butter that not only spreads easily when cold, but also contains a healthier balance of fats has been developed by researchers tinkering with the diets of cows.... >The scientists altered the fat profile of the milk from which the butter was made by adding rapeseed oil to the cow's fodder. Guest guest
Anne, Here's an alarming article about homogenization, very well worth reading. http://www.wellbeingjournal.com/homogenized.htm And here are quite a few other articles worth mentioning. http://www.midvalleyvu.com/About_Milk.html All the best, Janet My sister thinks because she drinks Horizon milk that everything is OK...not! I guess I should look up more about homogenization of milk as it relates to arteries. I need to convince her that Horizon milk is not where it's at. She believes that because it is called organic that makes it healthy. Thanks for reminding me of this. I drink RAW - Millions of calves can't be wrong.AnneVA USA
