In my situation, it took a good six months to get 100% focused and driven because I had to get over negative feelings and mental fatigue. Ironically enough, after over a year of exclusive private practice, I have found that (different) docs are the best resource for patient referrals to me. Go figure! I just raised my fees: $95 in 2000-2002, 2002-2004 $125 and am now asking $150 plus travel fee if necesary.' I decided this after getting a 7 minute wet cut for $30.00. I saw a baby today......had all the time I needed without the time-push of an office. It takes time but you will get there. Work of mouth spreads fast. And when your private clients gush "what would I do without you etc" say "you can let your ped know that I am available and that you found my service helpful" Keep us posted! Guest guest Posted March 23, 2004 Report Share Posted March 23, 2004 marsha, i work in a cooperative group practice that we formed out of a solo practice last year. i am happy to answer questions about how we do things if you have specific ones. also,i think i posted about this about 6 months ago in more detail and you can probably find it in the archives. it is working really well, and i can also write up some thoughts later, but it will be a week or so, as we have ot of town company all week, and thus little time on the computer. ask away though, and i am happy to answer! there are 4 consultants in our practice, all part time by choice.
