Guest guest
Hi. I've been reading these post and started to look up Inositol and the 5-htp. Can you give me places to order these products? Also, do you know if it is ok to take Inositol when my child is on Lithium. In one of the articles I read about it, it says that Lithium can make the Inositol level off and to add it would cause mania. I'm really confussed. Guest guest
Hi, I've only got a second, but inositol - from what I too have read - should not be taken if your child is on lithium. I would research a bit more on the 5-HTP also since it can interact with meds, etc. I'll try to see what I've saved to read up on it. > Hi. Guest guest
Michele, I strongly suggest that you don't mess with your child's medication without the advice of his doctor. 5-HTP is a precursor for serotonin. This means that your body uses it to make serotonin. Lithium treatment requires a very delicate balance. Adding another antidepressant can cause your child to become manic. If you really want to try the naturopathic route, I suggest you see a naturopath or contact the agency that Margot Kidder is a spokesman for. I can't remember the name off the top of my head but they are basically a group that fight for natural treatments to mental health disorders. They can recommend a psychiatrist knowledgeable in naturopathic treatments. I think it might be the Intermolecular Medicine Society. R. --------------------------------- Post your free ad now! Yahoo!
