Dear colleagues,

I received a proposal to do QA review work, which will be paid on a per-hour

basis.

Are there industry standards on the amount of QA work (words of the text

reviewed, words of comments, or somethig else) to be done per hour?

Dear ,

Yes, there are standards in terms of QA work, and each company has its own.

Therefore, I would suggest asking your client what exactly they would like you

to check in the document. Ususally, it involves:

- checking text for omissions

- numbers and correct number treatment/conversion

- word breaks

- misspelled proper names

- page references

- consistency in titles and TOC

- font/layout style

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Dear Svetlana,

Thank you for the reply.

What I am interested in is not the standard of QA work but a standard of the

amount of

such a work to be done in 1 h.

Best regards,
