Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Hi Adrienne and EveryOne, Welcome to the Original Kombucha list:-)) Sounds like a good combination of flavors that all go well with Kombucha tea (KT). An alternative is to use just plain sugar, tea, water to brew your Kombucha and add the flavors when you decant and bottle your KT. Of course then might not be so pink, but since we don't know the effect, positive or negative, when adding other herbs to KT is is perhaps wise to keep to the simple recipe when brewing and then add flavors later on when it no longer effects the brewing process. There is no particular thickness that the Kombucha Colony that forms should be. Sometimes, when it is cool they are thin, sometimes thicker, I also let several stay together in my brewing jar. At one time, when I was making Kombucha tea for sale in the local health food stores we had 17 flavors:-)) Happy Healthy Brewing.
