Guest guest
Stacey (and all AZ people) As you suggested, I checked out the AZ SPCC's fungal inspection report. You're kidding me, right? They aren't actually operating under the belief that a household pest inspector will be able to tell a homeowner whether they have a mold problem (or conditions that could cause a mold problem) based on their one-sheet 10-item checklist, are they?? I noticed they have a disclaimer at the top saying " This is not an indoor air quality report. It is not always possible to visually detect evidence of a fungal infestation. Consider assessment by a certified mold inspector for mold concerns. " So, basically these " inspectors " are going to be charging their clients for this lame wanna-be inspection, when they are only going to really say to them " Yep, you need an ACTUAL mold inspector to come take a look, " in which case the homeowner will have to pay the inspector to come out and do what should have been done in the first place! OR, the homeowner will unknowingly get this little checklist from the pest inspector and will assume it's accurate and the inspector is making a qualified opinion, so they will have a false sense of security. People, am I the only one who sees some problem with this?? It's stuff like this (coupled with the ever-knowledgable media) that is going to give our industry a bad name!! Guest guest
, Ahhh... Welcome to my frustration! For months I tried to bring this bill to the attention of IAQ people not only in AZ, but other states as well. I spent months writing letters and making phone calls to various senators and state reps. I brought the bill up at a meeting I scheduled at the state capitol months before it went to the Senate Committee. Imagine my frustration when I took a day out of my schedule to drive down to Phoenix to testify before the Senate Committee opposing this bill with only one other person (whom I had told about it.) Blind eyes, deaf ears... Legislation, favors, greed, power. Oh the stories I could tell you! We need to talk. I need a good AZ Comrade! Guest guest
Amana and Stacey, Is there a website to view the AZ SPCC? I know it can't be a Spill Prevention, Countermeasure and Control Plan ;-) BOB
