Guest guest Posted March 12, 2004 Report Share Posted March 12, 2004 Sue, My daughter almost 18 also on prozac in am she had a major weight gain with the zyprexa but we have not succeeded in finding an alternative to zyprexa. Tried geodon, no weight improvement. She is 5'1'' and 190 lbs very hard on teens. She was up to 220 when we finally joined weight watchers. Between the weight watchers and tredmilling she has lost 30 lbs since last april. With a lower dose of zyprexa it is coming off slowly. We have considered Abilify but the listed side effects scared me. I honestly thought we were the only one struggling this hard with weight. Our best to you and your daughter. Guest guest Posted March 12, 2004 Report Share Posted March 12, 2004 I hope so , because the fatal heart issues with taking Geodon is scaring the pants off me!,I was almost in tears while talking to the pharmasist today when I filled it!
