Guest guest
Vandana, just a couple opinions. Kefir whey may work, as well as the aged KT as an astringent for your acne. Apply a hot towel first to open the pores, apply the KT for a few minutes, then a cold splash to close the spores. One note, if the acne flared up after drinking KT and to determine if its a Detox/ Healing Crisis, or allergic response (the symptoms are often the same) is time. The usually answer is to reduce by 1/2 your KT and increase your pure water intake. (recommend 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of pure water daily. So if you weigh 100 pounds drink 50 ounces of water) A Detox/Healing Crisis then should resolve within a few days. An allergic reaction will continue as long as the allergen is present. The oil may be preventing the elimination. The KT (IMO) should not be causing any problems unless it is part of the detox - or you have an allergic reaction to something in the KT. Kefir and raw milk is an excellent probiotic and encouraged, but during flare-ups or detox they may be contributing more to the problem of elimination of the toxins. (very useful for eliminating the root cause of the problem / just need a better vehicle to get the toxins out of the body - that's where KT and pure (distilled) water are better at. Ed Kasper LAc. Posted by: " Vandana Purohit " vandana.purohit@... vapurohit Date: Tue Aug 15, 2006 6:23 am (PDT) It's been week 3 for me of drinking KT's kombucha and i'm still experiencing acne i still only have abt a cup a day. i do have oily acne prone skin..but my skin was definitly smoother before i started the kombucha. i'm still continuing with applying some virgin coconut oil to my face each night.. maybe it's the combination of kombucha, oil and humidity. who knows. but i want to be patient because of the message below by Bev. i'm hoping this is a detox. a, i'm thinking of trying your yogurt lemon mask. do you think it would work well with kefir too? i think kefir has more beneficial bacteria than yogurt..and beneficial yeast, so i was thinking it may work even better? have you tried it? also, i make my kefir with raw cows milk. vandana
