I think this is a good prospect for a lot of problems people may be having. The biggest manufacturer of DMSO in USA states on their Site: " our DMSO is more pure than others and so you don't suffer the characteristic garlic odour " . I think this is an important consideration. People talk of buying this product in 50 gallon lots - and either they are very rich or ( in Oz an AR ( purest laboratory grade) costs $US 100 per pint) or are buying a Paint Thinner, perhaps. I do think the vast disparity in peoples reactions could mainly be due to the quality of the DMSO they are using. I've had reports from friends that except for its miracle qualities it could cause a real marriage " separation " - when one is taking it the whole bedroom stinks - way beyond a garlic smell. In my home we have not found that to be the case. Of course, in Natural Healing, the " run-out " or herx or " regressive effect " is well-accepted. That simply means the body re-runs the trauma to " refile? " the information as part of the healing process. The key to recognising this is that the symptom/s will come and go rapidly over a period of time, as in having a pain or headache or fever which diminishes each time. Finally, there is the personal defensive reaction: Some people simply cannot eat Oranges. Something in their autoimmune system doesn't like them. ( The reason 99.9999 percent of us are so sick - we ignore the warnings and " still eat cake " . ) However, like most ex-Cancer sufferers, I am extremely sensitive to ... ANY damn thing and for an ex-macho male, I can't even use ordinary bath soaps. With the DMSO we use, I STILL get a drying reaction and simply add or use later a little Almond Oil or Jojoba. This is Dr Stanley 's site. On another note for those who want to take DMSO orally I found that it mixes really well with Pepsi. I could hardly taste a capful in a 6 oz glass of Pepsi. Not that I am pushing Pepsi mind you but it works and it is nice to know. Milk is suppose to help too, in fact eating dairy is suppose to reduce the odor. Have not confirmed that either. I searched for the 'largest DMSO mfg' but it didn't show up for me. $24 for 8 oz of DMSO might sound like a lot when you are used to paying $5 or so for a pint but if odor is important to you, it is dirt cheap. Just think how long this would last a person. My sister is nearly always in need of using DMSO but usually refuses because of the odor. Compare this same $24 to prescription medicine and you have a real bargain for something that actually works and has no side effects!
