It made me think of all the kind people who have done both the small and the big things for me since Hannah was born, but it also prompted me to think of us parents who do small and big things for our children every day. If you have cheered another's heart Or made a sad face smile, If you have calmed another's fear, Your life has been worthwhile. If you have said a tender word Or dried another's tear, If you have spread your share of love Then you've been needed here. It made me realize that we don't really need a " pat on the back " when we constantly strive to put others needs before our own; the gratification is that wonderful " hug " we feel in our hearts!!!
