Dr. Greenspan

I would like to share with you our experience with Dr. Greenspan. My son was 3

1/2 when we began seeing him (now is 11), after all the doom and gloom we went

through with other docs. He was absolutely wonderful. I told Dr. Goldberg he

was the 1st to acknowledge that something medical probably did happen. He was

the 1st to tell us to get off dairy, salicylates, nitrites, and follow

Feingold's suggestions of reducing sugar, colors and additives. As we saw him

every 3 months for 3 or 4 years, he began to talk about this as a possible

autoimmune disease, as children would have regressions along with what an

autoimmune flare up looks like. He has a daughter with diabetes and discussed

the possibility of that having been triggered by an autoimmune factor. He also

was the 1st to suggest small amounts of prozac because neuroimaging showed it

increases the blood flow in the brain.

Our problem, as many of you have experienced, was finding an MD that would

support us. Dr. Greenspan couldn't write prescriptions out of state. You can

imagine what eye rolling we got from doctors 8 years ago. They thought we were

such desperate, crazy parents.

Dr. Greenspan also recommends OT, ST, Vision Therapy, along with floortime, but

agrees that there is only so much you can do if the child is really sick, as

mine was constantly. Some of Greenspan's clients take off just by removing

dairy and other food allergies and doing therapies. Dr. Ricki of LA

has a son that has recovered under Dr. Greenspan and Serena Wieder. Why haven't

Dr. Goldberg and Dr. talked? She plans the medical speakers at the

Greenspan (ICDL) conferences.

Those of you who live in land might consider going to the conference in

November (8th) and setting up a booth or approaching Dr. Greenspan and Dr.

while there. He makes himself very available.

Although we continue to practice his theories, we have not been able to see him

in for a couple of years because our finances have had to concentrate on his

medical condition, ie, meds, Dr. Goldberg and travel. We have only been

patients of Dr. Goldberg for 1 1/2 years, so have waited to approach Dr.

Greenspan. Those of you that are more experienced in might consider

calling Dr. Greenspan. He is such an open-minded, brilliant man.
