Guest guest
Guerrero used to be my son's psychiatrist but we switched to Dr. Debra Stokan this year, we really like all the therapists in her office. We stopped going to Guerrero because he just wasn't relating well with my son. He didn't really do a very good job of drawing my son out or engage him in conversation. Dr. G told me that he didn't think my son would make a very good candidate for cognitive behavioral therapy because he was such a concrete thinker, too black & white, too rigid. My son has been doing CBT since February and he is responding very well. I know of another doctor you might like to check out that some other mom's really like, he is Dr. Guerra, who has ADHD himself and a nephew with autism. He takes insurance too! Guest guest
> does she take insurance? what do you mean therapists in her office? do they do in-home consultation? Dr. Debra Stokan does not file insurance for clients. Her office gives you detailed coded statements to file yourself. She is wonderful with my son. She got down on the floor and played a card game with my son during our first visit. She communicates through email between visits, as most docs do now. My son also sees Whitney, LPC in the same office for cognitive behavior therapy and Nurtured Heart Approach therapy. Dr. Trent Everett is in the same office too and though my son is not his patient, he goes out of his way to chat with my son. I don't know if they do in-home visits. You can look up info about them at www.lifetreksolutions.com.
