Guest guest
Is it possible that they just don't have anyone on contract that does ABA? We were told a similar thing when we wanted aquatics therapy but later got the therapy when one of the contractors that provided massage therapy started also providing aquatics. It might be worth asking around for contacts of ABA providers that are on contract with CLASS service agencies. When you find one, talk to that company or person about trying to get a contract with Touch of Class. Parents/clients have to be proactive with "specialized therapies" like this since the direct service providers don't get paid as much for providing those as they do for providing attendants or habilitation workers. Guest guest
Touch of Class especially refused to acknowledge the service existed. They are complicated in other ways as well and have given me the wrong info before. They make their own rules and are taking advantage of a system that is not monitored as it should be. I say get them out of the way and let me find my own services/therapists my self and get a better-paid ones instead of the money going to TOC.. Guest guest
Is the Touch of CLASS the only agency out there? What other agency are there? How about DSSW? If so, contact them and why not look into the CDS (Consumers Direct Services)option. You do the hiring and firing, you will have the support if you have DSSW. The only thing about the option of going the CDS route when they become 18 y/o, you are unable to become their Care Providers, you would have to hire someone for this. http://www.dads.state.tx.us/providers/waiver_comparisons/class_hcs.html How does CDS work? http://www.dads.state.tx.us/providers/CDS/howitworks.html Several family who chose the CDS option have been pretty pleased.
