This condition is making me aware of the inescapable fact that the

world we live in is becoming NOISIER and less COURTEOUS every day.

One example of how society has turned up the volume are movie

theaters. My boyfriend, who does NOT have 4S, has to bring earplugs

when we go (which is rarely now because I can't stand the sound of

popcorn and candy chompers). But they do blast us out of there. Do

they they we are deaf??

Another pet peeve I have with the overall noise level today is that

there must be a blaring TV set every fricking place I go, including the

dentists office waiting room and chair, auto repair shops, bus

terminals, doctor's offices, even a bookstore I was in recently! Can't

we have some peace and quiet, please?? It makes me wonder, does the

rest of the world really want this constant onslaught of sound and

entertainment? Or is it the professionals who think we do?

And people just have so little courtesy nowadays. The other day my

boyfriend and I went into a restaurant and the owners' children were

allowed to play in the dining room like monkeys. The noise of them

climbing on and scooting the chairs out across the floor over and over

and over was maddeningly loud! And their screaming constantly. To say

the least, we were BOTH irritated by this, and we walked out because of

it. What is WRONG with people? What kind of parents let their kids

behave this way in public, let alone in their own establishment where

they are trying to run a business? Also, that same restaurant, and

many others I've noticed, always play their music loud. It's supposed

to be BACKground music, but you have to yell over it in most

restaurants! Jeez!
