I would just like to say that if there was a way for me to take back

what I thought was an innocent humorous observation, I would. I think I made

the problem worse when I unsubscribed, and I feel bad about my part in that.

I am amazed at how this has escalated out of control. I am stunned that an

email meant in a light hearted way could have been blown out of proportion in

the way that this has. This has definitely been a lesson in sociology for

me. I lost sight of the fact that there are people out there who don't feel

as warm and friendly toward everyone as I do. And we do have a melting pot

of people that have subbed to this group. This has been a wake up call for

me, because I have noticed that there are about 20 people who actively

participate in the group, but there are at least 100 people who are

subscribed. People like , and , for example, who just enjoy

reading the posts so much, that they jump in and become active. I must say

that if quality people are drawn into this group in that way, then we must be

on the right track in the way we conduct our conversations. But it is a

public place, and in keeping with that, there are people who are reading our

posts who may not feel the same affection for our group as I do.

It saddens me to think that I need to sensor what I say for the sake of

it not being repeated on the Internet somewhere. This group has been my home

on the Internet since I have joined, and the other night when I unsubscribed,

I literally felt like crying. I feel so attached to you all. Many of us are

mothers and wives, and/or we have single lives and busy careers. I can't

speak for everyone, but I find fulfillment here, because my life revolves

around my family, and I don't find time for friends as much as I'd like. The

friendships with you girls I find gratification in, because we get beyond the

quiet times that you spend when you're face to face, and we talk about

everything under the sun. We have such a connection here. The other night,

my daughter, Shyla, wanted to talk in one of her teen chat rooms, and I was

having a hard time pulling myself away from you girls. She said, " Mom, you

are addicted to the Internet! " and I said, " But that's where my friends

live. " And it is so true. You are more than just emails to me. It is

almost like a sorority here. So, I am asking you to let this die down, and

not respond to someone's attempts to be viscous and gossip on another board.

Sandy, I think you represent most of us with your feelings of extreme loyalty

to each other, and you are a treasure. But lets all try to let this roll off

our back. And Vivian, please come back! It's the holidays for heaven's

sake. Let's all take a 21 day challenge to leave this nonsense where it

belongs, in the troubled heart of whoever started it. Love, Sharon

Well, if they were being mean-spirited, I hope you weren't the same way

back, especially since you have a low tolerance of it. You said you

probably shouldn't have posted. No point in getting into a boards war,

is there?

thought to myself " thats kind of unnecessary " but went on with life!!!!

And if you noticed that post got VERY LITTLE response from people on

THAT board!!! In fact I forgot about the whole thing till I read it on

here again--- most of you said you came over to this e-group because

you wanted to be able to express YOUR thoughts freely---and thats is

awesome---but sometimes that means opening up and listening (not always

agreeing) to what others have to say. Someone's statement is just that

someone's statement--take it with a grain of salt.

I have to add I really do enjoy both boards and all the motivation it

brings me but I hate this idea that one place is superior to the

other---They are both great and I hope they continue to be!!!!

I try to be but if someone gets mean, I can sometimes respond too quickly &

emotionally though overall, I try to avoid confrontation & take a cooldown

period

My own saying is

" hurt me once, you are a fool;

hurt me twice then I'm the fool "

I do not give third chances anymore

& try to avoid folks who just don't get *it* & probably never will

Someone in this group suggested that we visualize our enemy behind us, in

order to be effective with the back kick. And then another person spoke of

doing a headlock on the bum, and beating him to death with the knee raise.

Both of those visuals helped me tremendously. And thinking of a target when

I am throwing my kicks and punches is such a positive stress reliever! ;o)

Thats crummy. The majority of e-group & listserve subscribers and board posters

LOVE surfing the net. Plus how can we truly decide if something is the best

for us if we don't see what else is out there. I'm a bit skeptical of

organizations that won't let you see the criticism about them.

these boards choose to censor. It must be a conflict of interest for them to

list their competition. But on the other hand, getting you all worked up is

I have been following this conversation very closely, and I totally agree

about the stuff that's been said about censorship. But as said, it

is not worth getting an ulcer over it! I understand that people need to

vent about it, but please, don't let it get to you.... it is not worth it!

There are too many things in life that can cause stress, online censorship

should be the last thing to cause stress!!! So, chill out guys, and try to

think about how we all (or mostly all) here support freedom of speech.

After all, there are still places where we can speak our own minds... My

recent life experiences have taught me that life is too short or too

complicated to get upset over small things...
