Guest guest
Tomorrow morning at 9:00, teenage singer song-writer Cousins who has autism will be on Great Day Houston. I don't think there will be time for him to sing on the show so it's probably just an interview with him. He is an alumni of the Westview School, a small private special ed school for children 2 - 14 with high functioning autism, PDD, Asperger's, ADHD and other learning disabilities. I have heard sing several times and he just gets better and better. has a CD and it's called Spectrum, my favorite song is called "Love Myself," here are the lyrics: Not many people have walked in my shoes Seen what I've seen, thought like I do Sometimes I feel like I've been battered and bruised Tied to a tree, knocked to my knees Movin' on down this road No stoppin' me with life's pitfalls and holes The vision is clearer now Ready to persevere now Without a doubt, the world will hear me shout Cause I've seen it all on my way here My journey feels so tainted I've been struggling for years Finally I've made it I finally made it I love who I am I'm guilty so charge for being me Lifting my spirits high and I'm running free There's no stopping me I'm turning the key To the entrance of being free The light at the end of the tunnel's calling me Said it's calling me On the inside jacket to the CD thanks his parents and numerous people, he also writes, "For everyone at the Westview School, especially Jane (director/founder), thanks for saving me." Hope you get to watch the show. Just goes to show you how important it is to encourage our special children to try their hardest to achieve their goals and desires, even if it seems like the impossible. R.
