Hi Becky,

Have you tried the Juice + Fibre? One 8 oz juice box has 10 grams

of fiber in it.

My dd who is 6.5 years old was on Miralax for 4 years. When I

learned of the possible harmful side effects I took her off Miralax & tried

the juice & it works GREAT! I give her 4.5 oz 2 x a day & for breakfast

she has 2.5 oz of pureed prunes mixed with applesauce + 9 oz of Quaker Quik

Oats cereal warmed & she goes normally. The amount of juice I give to her

equals a bit more than 1 box per day.

The bm’s are soft & much smaller & she is so much

more comfortable now.(Sorry for being graphic)

Here’s the link for the juice: http://www.earth-friendly.com/juiceplus.php3

Just click on the flavor & you can place your order.

FYI: my dd & ’s prefers the Fruit Punch flavor.

Also if you do order it try mixing it with his favorite juice. I

mix the 4.5 oz in with 4 oz of Motts’ Juice + for Kids to conceal the

taste a bit. You might try 1 oz mixed with a favorite juice & then

gradually add more of the Juice + Fibre until your ds gets used to the new

taste & you figure out the correct amount to give so that you do not cause

diarrhea.

My dd is 45 lbs & 9 oz per day is perfect for her with the

prunes in the morning.

Hope this helps.

Yvette

Hi, I'm Becky. My friend

referred me to this group because my son,

(18 months) has constipation issues and was on glycolax for 5

months. I say " was " because I recently stopped giving it to him. It

has never really worked that great for him it was always either too

much (like 10-12 explosive dirty diapers a day) or not enough. The

final straw was a 9 day stint without going, despite trying to go

everyday and producing nothing. We have an appt with a Pedi-GI at the

end of January. Hopefully, we'll figure it out or come up with some

more alternatives to the glycolax. Right now we're giving him

psyllium husks and it's not working that great either, but at least

it's more natural.
