How do propose that fundamental skills are reinforced as strength is developed, in general how much time in a professional or semi professional athletes training should be given to basic skills and how would you incorporate these into the overall conditioning programme. Ball handling skills are the issue, accurate passing and catching under pressure often let even top players down. In rugby all players get to handle, carry and lateral the ball. So with this in mind do you have any suggestions? A colleague and I have developed a system of improving contact biomechanics of the collisions in rugby and teach these with high repetitive drills to improve this type of co-ordination and skill. This seems to be in line with what you are saying but I would appreciate some of your thoughts. Regards Nick Tatalias Johannesburg South Africa Quote
