Hi a,

I'm so glad the splint is making a difference for you! Stan used to get

migraines 2 - 3 times a week, and they brought life to a total

standstill for him. The worst part was the fear of getting one, I

think. Everything he planned, he had to take into consideration that he

might get a migraine and end up in bed. I'm so glad you aren't

relegated to that fate.

Luckily I'm no longer lugging packages to the post office. I have UPS

come right to my front door and pick them up. I couldn't do the

increased volume if I had to head to the post office daily and wait in

line for 30 minutes. It's a little more expensive, and I probably lose

a few bidders because my shipping cost has gone up, but they get

insurance on their packages included in the cost and they have a

tracking number. I'm so grateful for UPS!

I've already sold enough by far to qualify for insurance this month, so

I have one more month to go to do the same. I'll probably still have to

wait because of the pre-existing condition, but at least I'll have

coverage for my RA in the future. And if I have any complications, I

will have hospitalization.

They found out that Stan's mom has a blood clot. They've had her on

Coumadin for the past three days, so hopefully that's gone a long way

toward dissolving it. It's been a scary time for Stan, though. Me,

too. Hopefully she'll be out of the hospital soon.

Love,

Carol

[ ] Carol

Carol,

It sounds to me like you're on the road to getting the group insurance!

It

sounds like a lot of fun except for the trips to the post office and all

that packing and lugging. At least you're having fun doing it and it's

great to be able to find something to make money and have fun at the

same

time.

I'm sorry to hear about Stan's mom. I hope she will be ok. I will keep

her

in my prayers.

I have had a lot of improvement with the headaches. The splint is

really

helping and I'm very grateful. The though of living with chronic

headaches

was very scary. I feel so bad for anyone that suffers from migraines.

Before this I rarely got headaches, so I had no idea how debilitating

they

were. I go once a month to get my splint adjusted. I am almost back to

a

normal bite and hope to be able to ditch the splint in another 2 months.

I'm still on a TMJ diet which really is the pits, but at least I am

seeing

benefit, which makes it worth it.

I hope you get approved for the Humira and it helps. I sympathize with

the

stomach upset from the mtx.

a,

I hope you don't mind me butting in, but I read about your new home that

you're going to be moving to in Florida and I wish it was me. I would love to

move

there but it doesn't look like it's going to be any time soon. I've only been

to Naples to visit someone once. My in laws spend the winter on the east side

of Florida. The house sounds wonderful, what a great place to enjoy your new

grandchild. Congratulations on all your great news.

June,

Yes, I have talked about it for a long time. I¹ve talked about it every

year so no one believed we¹d actually do it. We didn¹t tell anyone of our

job/house hunting intentions except for my parents, who are already in

Florida during the winter. They have been going down for the winter for the

last 4 years. We stayed with them while we searched.

The house is a new one, 3 bedrooms 2 baths. It is a typical Floridian home

and is Pink stucco. It¹s the floor plan I¹ve always dreamed of. The pool

is not there yet, but when my house sells, it will be there. The house is

set up for one. There are sliding glass doors off of the master bedroom,

the living room and the kitchen, which all open to a screened porch, which

is where the pool will go. I¹m looking forward to opening my bedroom door

and working out my morning kinks in a pool. The house is in Naples, which

is in southwest Florida. We¹re about 20 minutes from the beach.

Have you ever been to Florida?

You¹re not butting in . This is an open forum, so there is no butting

in. Don¹t stop dreaming

because you don¹t know what the future holds.

I honestly didn¹t expect this to happen for several more years when my

husband retired.

Maybe you could visit your in-laws and get a break from the cold? Last

year I spent the month of February

with my parents in Naples. That¹s how I got to know and love the area. We

actually planned on living

on the east coast, but found we loved Naples even more. Chicago must be

much worse than NJ as far

As winters.

a,

Just wanted to add my congratulations on your new granddaughter and your move.

A good friend of mine just moved to Florida - a little north of Naples - and

just loves it. I am so happy for you!

Hi a,

I’m doing fairly well, thanks. The depression is much better with the

Remeron, and now I’m starting to lower the dosage. I’ve had a problem with

weight gain, and that’s the issue at hand now. I think the hormones are the

culprit, but the antidepressant has exacerbated the situation. We’re also

working on my thyroid levels. I was more active than ever from Oct to Dec

and I gained 25 lbs! I wasn’t eating any differently, and I was working

about 12 hrs a day. I am starting on Xenical tomorrow, and I hope it will

help. We’ve bumped up my thyroid, and we’re checking the levels in a month.

As for diet, I know you did well with your diet, a. Do you have any

tips? Anyone?

I love Naples! When I was a kid and I lived in Plantation (Ft. Lauderdale)

we used to take one night trips on the weekend to Naples. They were a

budget affair, just to go to the tranquil gulf beaches. They’re some of the

best memories of my childhood! Naples is beautiful Florida weather, without

the crowds of the east coast. Maybe this fall, after you’re long since

settled in and Deb is back in good health, I can stop by Ft Lauderdale, pick

up Debs, and we can come and see you for lunch or dinner. She’d be

comfortable in the SUV and it would be a lot of fun. I’ve wanted to meet

you for so long. Oddly enough, I’ll be heading to NJ in the next few weeks.

My timing is never right!

Well, you take it easy. Moving is hard for anyone, and much more so with

RA. Wishing you many blessed years in your new home…

Much love,

Carol

Re: [ ] I'm finally moved

Thanks Carol! I¹m in Naples on the west coast. I¹m VERY glad to be moved

in. It

was much harder than I imagined. How have you been feeling? I hope your

battle

with depression is getting better.

Carol,

I¹m glad the Remeron is helping. It¹s such a shame that many of our meds

have

such rotten side effects such as weight gain. I hope the doctor can figure

out what is going on.

To not be eating differently and your activity level being so high, it seems

it has to be med related.

Diet wise the only thing that I found that made a difference for me is

limiting my meats.

I rarely eat meat and my digestive system is happy about it. I¹ve also cut

out almost all dairy.

I eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits and stay away from processed

foods.

I know you¹re pretty careful about your diet too.

Naples is the most beautiful area I¹ve ever been in. We went exploring

today and found a really

nice beach that is handicapped accessible. It even has the beach

wheelchairs. It would be

great to meet you and Debs! I¹m looking forward to it.

Hi a,

I am so happy that you were able to speak with Tess. I was so worried when I

called and they told

me that she was in serious condition. I guess that we are all probably driving

the hospital

receptionist crazy. Please keep us updated and tell Tess that prayers are still

coming her way.

a, I know about your feelings right now about your dog, is almost 13,

has survived a cancer operation 2 years ago. Lately she is refusing to eat and

has lost a lot of weight. I am making special food and she lets me hand feed her

a little bit. It is so hard when I see her failing like this, especially when

she comes over and puts her head on my knee and looks at me with sad eyes as if

she is asking me to do something.

Thanks for your prayers Althea. It isn¹t easy to loose our furry friends.

We are enjoying every moment with her. Today we took her for a ride in the

car.

She just loves riding.

June,

I remember when you went through this with . Where was her cancer?

I¹m sorry she is also loosing her appetite.

We took her back to the vet today and saw another vet in the office. I

liked her much better. They can¹t figure out what is going on because my

dog eats a lot, drinks fine but is loosing muscle mass and strength in spite

of a healthy appetite. Even her blood tests are almost normal. Only her

ALT liver enzyme is slightly elevated. Today they tested her thyroid and

retested the liver, and did a diabetes test.

What are you cooking for ? My Jawsie refused to eat dog food, but is

chowing down on chicken breasts. She also is eating beef hotdogs. I put

her supplements in the hot dogs and it¹s easier to get them down her.

I feel for you June. It is so painful to go through this. I really thought

the vet was going to tell me it was time to do the humane thing, but she

seems to think she¹ll be around awhile longer. The other vet didn¹t give

her a week and that was 10 days ago. She lost no more weight in those 10

days, so my cooking for her must be helping. Jawsie isn¹t in any pain and

still has her happy face.

Kathi,

I think being surprised is much better than having everything ready. There

is nothing wrong

with yellow and white! My step daughter was pressured into finding out with

both of her kids,

but she refused. I can¹t blame you for being worried about the environment,

I would be too. I¹m

sure she will be extra careful, so try to relax and enjoy this time.

My house is coming along really nice. I¹m still in box land, but they are

slowly being emptied.

I¹m just happy to be here! I¹m about 2 hours from both Debs and Carol.

I¹m hoping to meet

both of them in the near future.

a: It is great to see you posting......:>)..I am glad you are so

happy in Floridaland.....and I hope the weather treats you great!!!I

laughed so hard when you said surprises are better, as we had a

shocker yesterday.....Autumn had her first sonogram(helps having

friends in a hospital).....anyway the tech got really quiet, which

scared the mess out of me....then she started laughing her head

off....I was close to tears, thinking oh no!!! Anyways she said

Grandma look close...do you know what you are looking at???? I said

it looks like two gummie bears to me.....then the shock

hit...key ....oh my God there is 2!!!!!! One little gummie bear in

the upright position and the other in the down position with it's

head looking like it is laying on the other's behind....two sacks,

two heartbeats.....and lots of shock.....It is amazing to me the

technology that is now available.....Marissa is 10, and I had a

sonogram, but much later and not really alot of detail....the newer

technology is so clear, it is amazing......they are much to little

to see the sex, which was fine with both of us......the only twins

in our family is 3 generations ago, so this possibility never

crossed our minds, but apparently from what the doc said yesterday,

multiples are becoming much more common.....it was a true

shocker....Autumn is still in shock, me too!!!!! I jokingly said it

was a miracle and now it is not a joke.....my mom keeps

teasing ....saying Good things come to those that

wait....LOL....shock too, I guess....or maybe Judi is sending

something in her posts...so those in the group, better be

careful////lol.....I think I will be lighting alot of candles in the

next 7 months......hope you start feeling alot better in the great

Florida sun.....hugs Kathi in Ok

Twins and being a twin is fun. Sharon and I are identical twins -she is lucky-

Thanks Tess. I miss her terribly. She was my best friend and companion.

I really do believe there is a Rainbow Bridge too and it gives me great

together again.

Thanks for the hugs.

Thanks Barb. I¹ve seen many of the online sites, and they are very

Noreen,

Thanks Noreen. I know she is waiting for me and is very happily romping in

fields of flowers.

That thought makes it easier to accept her passing. I¹ve had many pets in

my life, but this one was my shadow and best friend. Even when she was so

sick, she still found the strength to follow me from room to room. Her

unconditional love will be with me always.

Oh a: Somehow I missed your post when reading back....I am so

sorry, about your loss.....Having a mini farm I understand how much

this loss means..I truly feel that they give us unconditional love

and understanding, sometimes more than out two legged friends that

there is a large hole left when they leave......sending hugs and

thoughts to you......Kathi in OK

You are in my prayers. It is always hard to lose a " family member " - especially

one who gives and receives love so unconditionally. You will know when it is

time to get that new furbaby.

Love,

Carol,

Thanks so much for the site. It is a good site that brings comfort to

anyone who has lost a beloved buddy.

Right now I¹m using paula54@... for an email address, but in a few

weeks I¹ll be changing it when I change my ISP.

I hope everyone is well and Esther is managing ok on her ankle.

Wow! You have had a really exciting day. I am glad to hear that the firefighters

got it under

control with as little damage as possible. I didn't know that I had natural

talent for the broad

jump but when and I were out on the porch watching some of the storms last

week, a bolt of

lightening was so close to my house that I jumped out of my shoes about five

feet back. We haven't

had any damage in our neighborhood but in the north part of town a lot of people

were without

power for several days and there was a lot of damage to businesses.

Speaking of living in a vacation spot...When my funds arrive, I have already

planned a visit to

Carol and Debs. Are you in the same area? We could have a mini convention. I can

imagine how much

you miss your grandchildren. We still want to move to Arkansas/Missouri but I

can't stand the

thought of leaving Sky and the little one on the way, not to mention my kids.

I wish you blue sky days ahead and hope that you get that new chair soon! Iris
